LATAM Airlines resumes Rio de Janeiro–Buenos Aires route

LATAM Airlines has officially resumed its nonstop round-trip service between Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires, marking a notable return on one of South America’s busiest international aviation markets. The restoration of the route from early May underscores the airline’s efforts to strengthen its regional presence while meeting rising demand for travel, tourism and business trips between Brazil and Argentina.

Strategically, the Rio de Janeiro–Buenos Aires route not only reinforces LATAM Airlines’ regional network but also expands connectivity options for passengers traveling through two of the continent’s leading economic, cultural and tourism hubs. Amid competition from several carriers already serving this sector, LATAM’s return is expected to further energize the market and create additional growth opportunities across both the leisure and corporate travel segments.

The airline is operating daily service with Airbus A320 aircraft, providing consistent frequency and capacity aligned with two-way demand between Brazil and Argentina.

Rio de Janeiro has long stood as one of Brazil’s most iconic tourism destinations, home to Christ the Redeemer atop Corcovado, Sugarloaf Mountain, Copacabana Beach and the world-famous Guanabara Bay. The city offers a rare blend of urban dynamism, samba culture and spectacular natural scenery.

In the opposite direction, Buenos Aires draws visitors with its distinctive European character, historic boulevards, the identity-rich San Telmo district and the colorful La Boca neighborhood.
