Eastar Jet officially resumes Busan–Almaty route
Eastar Jet has officially resumed its nonstop round-trip service between Busan and Almaty, marking a notable return to the Northeast Asia–Central Asia corridor. The restoration of this route not only expands travel options for passengers in both directions, but also reinforces Busan’s role as one of South Korea’s key international gateways.
The route is being reinstated amid a strong recovery in tourism and trade demand between the two markets, while also creating additional opportunities across the leisure, visiting friends and relatives, and business travel segments. With Almaty serving as Kazakhstan’s largest economic center, the service enables Eastar Jet to strengthen its presence in a high-potential market and add further depth to its international network expansion strategy.
At the current stage, Eastar Jet is operating the route twice weekly with Boeing 737-800 aircraft, providing a stable nonstop link between the two cities.
Busan, South Korea’s largest port city, is known for vibrant beaches such as Haeundae and Gwangalli, the colorful Gamcheon Culture Village, and the renowned Jagalchi Fish Market. Its blend of modern urban energy, rich seafood cuisine, and distinctive coastal scenery continues to make Busan a highly attractive destination.
At the other end of the route, Almaty stands out for the dramatic mountain backdrop of the Tian Shan range, the famous Medeu ice rink, and the spectacular Big Almaty Lake. As Kazakhstan’s former capital, Almaty combines historical depth with its status as one of the region’s most dynamic cultural and financial centers.
