Air India officially launches new Delhi–Hanoi route
Air India has officially inaugurated a new route linking Delhi and Hanoi, adding an important new link to the air network between India and Vietnam. The new service not only expands travel options for both business and leisure passengers, but also supports trade, investment and cultural exchange between two of the region’s most influential capitals.
Air India’s entry into the Delhi–Hanoi market underscores the carrier’s accelerating strategy to expand its presence in Southeast Asia. Against a backdrop of robust bilateral travel demand and increasingly deep economic ties between India and Vietnam, the route enables Air India to compete directly with existing operators while strengthening onward connectivity via its Delhi hub to a wide range of domestic Indian and international destinations.
In the initial phase, the airline is operating four round-trip flights per week with the Airbus A321neo, aiming to balance operational efficiency with passenger comfort on this medium-haul sector.
Delhi, India’s largest aviation gateway, is a city where history and modernity intersect vividly, with landmarks such as the Red Fort, Qutub Minar and the ceremonial boulevard Rajpath.
Hanoi, meanwhile, draws visitors with its character-rich Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake, the Temple of Literature, and a millennium-deep cultural heritage, while also serving as an ideal gateway for exploring northern Vietnam.
