Air China launches new Chongqing–Manila route

Air China has officially launched a new route linking Chongqing and Manila, adding an important new link to the international air network between Southwest China and Southeast Asia. The new service not only broadens travel options for both business and leisure passengers, but also provides fresh momentum for trade, investment and people-to-people exchanges between two increasingly connected markets.

The route launch underscores Air China’s strategy of strengthening its regional presence in Southeast Asia, while further reinforcing Chongqing’s role as a major aviation gateway in inland China. With Manila serving as a key economic, administrative and tourism hub in the Philippines, the new connection is expected to meet growing two-way travel demand and support connecting traffic through the airline’s extensive network.

In the initial phase, Air China will operate the Chongqing–Manila route with multiple flights per week using Boeing 737-800 aircraft, offering a stable schedule for both leisure travelers and business passengers.

Chongqing is one of China’s most striking metropolitan areas, known for its mountainous terrain, the dramatic scenery at the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing rivers, as well as the distinctive appeal of Ciqikou Ancient Town and its famed spicy hotpot cuisine. The city is also a major industrial, logistics and commercial center in western China.

In the other direction, Manila offers a vibrant blend of history and modern urban life. Visitors can explore Intramuros, Rizal Park, San Agustin Church and Manila Bay, renowned for its sunsets, while business travelers gain access to one of the Philippines’ most dynamic economic engines.
