Air Cairo officially launches Cairo–Tripoli route

Air Cairo has officially inaugurated a new route linking Cairo with Tripoli, marking another notable step forward in the airline’s regional network expansion strategy across North Africa. The new two-way service immediately adds more nonstop travel options between Egypt and Libya, serving business, visiting friends and relatives, and tourism demand alike.

The launch of the Cairo–Tripoli route carries clear strategic significance by connecting two important hubs in the Mediterranean and North African region. As travel demand between the two markets continues to recover and grow, Air Cairo is seizing the opportunity to strengthen its presence on regional sectors while competing directly with established operators on the route, including Afriqiyah Airways, Libyan Airlines, EgyptAir, Berniq Airways, Buraq Air, Fly Oya and Fly Libya.

During the initial phase of operations, the airline is deploying multiple weekly round-trip flights between Cairo and Tripoli using the Airbus A320, while selected services may be operated by the Embraer E190 depending on scheduling requirements.

Cairo remains one of the Middle East’s most compelling destinations, renowned for the Giza Pyramids, the Sphinx, the Egyptian Museum and the vibrant atmosphere along the Nile. It is not only Egypt’s political and economic capital, but also one of the Arab world’s leading cultural gateways.

At the other end of the route, Tripoli reflects the rich legacy of the Mediterranean through its old quarter, Martyrs’ Square and the striking Red Castle of Assaraya al-Hamra overlooking the coast. As Libya’s largest economic center, the city plays a pivotal role in the country’s trade, administration and international connectivity.
